| GIII
Series - Improved performance (efficacy)
The
efficacy of the GIII Series compared to G1.2/G2.2
has been retrospectively studied by the Colorado Centre
for Reproductive Medicine during the period of April
to December 2001. The culture was performed at 37ºC
in 6 % CO2 and 5 % O2. The number of patients, the
average age and the number of embryos transferred
are indicated in Table 1.
The
results (Fig 1) illustrate clearly that the performance
of GIII Series is significantly improved in
comparison to the G1.2/G2.2. Blastocyst formation,
implantation and pregnancy rates are increased by
16.1%, 23.9% and 13.3% respectively.

In
a prospective randomized study 249 patients undergoing
IVF treatment wererandomly allocated to G1.2/G2.2 or Sydney
IVF media.
For
day 3 transfer G1.2/G2.2 were superior to Sydney IVF media,
whereas both media yielded similar outcomes in a blastocyst
transfer program.
