|
Recombinant
human albumin
The recombinant human albumin, Recombumin®, the
major component of G-MM, is an essential supplementation
for the GIII Series. Recombumin® is proven
to be structurally identical and possesses the same
function as the human serum albumin.
Since no animal or human-derived raw materials are
used in the manufacturing process of this substance,
all known human or animal-derived infectious agents
are effectively proscribed by virtue of the biosynthetic
character of the product.
Thus,
the potential risk associated with the viral or prion
infection derived from human or animal sources is
eliminated. The ultra-high purity of this product
also enables a completely defined formulation and
an improved LOT-to-LOT consistency of culture media,
which is an indispensable condition for a consistent
good success rate.
We
trust that the process of creating a human life deserves
not only Absolute Quality but also Absolute Safety!
The
application of the recombinant human albumin in commercial
embryo culture media was first introduced by Vitrolife
in 2001.

Hyaluronan
Hyaluronan, also called hyaluronic acid, is a polysaccharide
of the glycosaminoglycans class. It is a unique biopolymer
which is found in tissues and body fluids in every mammalian
species as well as in microorganisms. As a physiological
substance, hyaluronan is rich in the female reproductive
tract and also abundant around oocytes, especially during
the peri-ovulation period. In vivo, it was known that hyaluronan
supports ovulation and assists in sperm selection during
fertilization process. Following studies in several mammalian
species,12, 13 we now know that, in vitro, hyaluronan, along
with the recombinant human albumin, not only support human
embryo development at pre-implantation stage in culture
but also facilitate the implantation of human embryos (Data
on file). It has also been demonstrated that the hyaluronan
and recombinant human albumin can significantly improve
embryo cryosurvivability.14
The
introduction of GIII Series with the non-animal or
non-human derived hyaluronan and recombinant human albumin
provides you a possibility to minimize intracellular stresses
and improve the success rate.
